HOW TO
BECOME REGISTERED OR LICENSED HOME INSPECTOR IN SOUTH DAKOTA
To become a registered home inspector in South
Dakota an applicant must:

Be of good moral
character

Have successfully
completed high school or high school equivalency

Have successfully
completed an approved home inspector course of not less than 40 hours
-
Have successfully completed an examination administered by
AMP (Applied Measurement Professionals, Inc.). Exam information may be

Submit an application
and application fee to the South Dakota Real Estate Commission

Receive approval of the
application from the South Dakota Real Estate Commission
To become a licensed home
inspector in South Dakota an applicant must meet the following requirements:

Be of good moral character
-
Have successfully completed high school or high school equivalency
-
Have successfully completed an approved home inspector course of not
less than 40 hours
-
Been employed as a registered home inspector for no less than one year
and performed at least 100 home inspections for compensation

Have successfully completed an examination administered by AMP (Applied
Measurement Professionals, Inc.). Exam information may be found at

Submit an application, experience log and application fee to the South
Dakota Real Estate Commission

Receive approval of the application from the South Dakota Real Estate
Commission.
ONCE LICENSED, THERE IS NO DISTINCTION BETWEEN
THE DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF A LICENSED HOME INSPECTOR AND THOSE OF A
REGISTERED HOME INSPECTOR.
